Norman Lee Strief

Norman Lee Strief, 83, of Marion, died Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at his home. Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion, by Pastor Jon Moss. The family will greet friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home in Marion. Burial: Troy Mills Cemetery, Troy Mills, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of Marion; three sons, Gary Strief of Marion, Jeff (Lois) Strief of Cedar Rapids, and Terry (Janet) Strief of Lebanon, MO; grandchildren, Kyle, Desiree, and Jeffrey; step-children, Craig, Kevin, and Kent Wright, and Kristine Blackford; brother, Roger (Beatrice) Strief; and sister, Eulagean Strief.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Beverley.
Norman was born January 22, 1931, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Louis and Elsie Strief. He married Beverley Jean Appleby who later died in 1975. Norman then married Mary (Schatzle) Wright. He was a farmer and a school bus driver, and was still working as a Wal-Mart Greeter which he enjoyed greatly. Norman loved meeting people and took pride in all of his jobs, especially driving kids in the school bus. He also enjoyed camping and woodworking.
