Norman Wilbur Chase, 57, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Saturday, October 3, 2015, at home following a short illness. Memorial Gathering: 5-7 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2015, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Burial: Dunkard Cemetery, Midway, Iowa, at a later date.
Survivors include his wife, Edith “Edi” Chase; children, Timothy Chase, Travis Chase, and Tamra (Brian) Dowd, all of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Tyler, Hannah, and Liam; sisters, Pat (Tony) Wilson, Donna Connor, all of Cedar Rapids, and Sherry Martin, of Waterloo, Iowa; three aunts, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, parents, in-laws, and a brother.
Norman was born on April 28, 1958, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son of James and Jo An (Abernathy) Chase. He was a laborer for Local 1238 and 43. Norman most recently worked at Pierson Education. He served his country in the US Navy during Peacetime. Norman enjoyed hunting, fishing, drawing, woodworking and his family.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
