Norma Lee Rowe, 93, of Coggon, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Due to the projected winter storm, the services have been rescheduled to next week. The visitation will be held from 9 - 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at United Parish Church in Coggon, Iowa, with a Funeral Service to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Coggon Cemetery in Coggon. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.

Norma was born on March 9, 1930, in Coggon, the daughter of Lee Roy and Jennie Maybelle (Renfer) Schatzle. On September 15, 1946, Norma was united in marriage to Laurence Henry Rowe in Coggon. They owned and operated Coggon Varieties, and she also worked as a custodian for First Christian Church and worked as a CNA at Willow Gardens and the Abbe Center. Norma was a first responder with the Coggon Fire Department and was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed flowers and making ceramics in her younger years. Norma will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Norma is survived and lovingly remembered by her children, Robin (Bill) Henderson of Walker, Iowa, and Brian Rowe of Coggon; four grandchildren, David Weekly, Jennifer (Matthew) Hormann, Brent (Tierney) Rowe, and Becky Henderson (Andy Bryant); five great-grandchildren, Bently, Brandi, Braelyn, Lilly, and Amelia; sister-in-law, Sandy Schatzle; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2010, Laurence; son, Steven Rowe; daughter, Stacia Rowe; brothers, Donald and Phillip Schatzle; and sisters, Marie McDowell, Vera Loraine Schatzle, and Charlotte Kepler.
