Norma Jean Reardon, 71, formerly of Burnsville, Minnesota, died Thursday, February 1, 2007, at Willow Gardens Care Center, Marion, following a short illness. Services: 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2007, at Hope United Methodist Church in Havelock, Iowa, by the Rev. Thorn Wittstruck. Burial: Laurens City Cemetery, Laurens, Iowa. Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include two brothers, Meryl (Colleen) Smith of Fostoria, Iowa, and Duane (Lavohn) Smith of Albert City, Iowa; and a sister, Violet Harris of Marion.
Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Don, Dennis and Randy Smith, Darlys Blomberg, Sandy Stone, Joyce Bailey, Donna Drake, Connie Seaman, Cary Dixon, Ron, Steve and Wayne Harris and Roxanne, Braden and Terry Smith.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rocsoe Smith, and her mother, Fern Smith; and a brother, Alan Smith.
Norma was born May 11, 1935, in Lake Park, Iowa, to Roscoe and Fern (Johnson) Smith. She was employed at R.B.C. Dain Rauscher in Minneapolis for thirty-five years, retiring as vice president.
Norma loved watching television, especially sports, and was a Viking fan. She also enjoyed fishing. Norma was proud of her career and retired at the age of 60. She was fond of reminiscing about her family and her growing up years.
A memorial fund has been established in Norma?s memory.
