Norine Eleanor Baker, 82, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Center Point, died Monday, May 4, 2009, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Services: 9:30 a.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids by Rev. Del Bear. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial: Center Point Cemetery.
Survivors include four children, Sandra Baker of Des Moines, Janet (Dennis) Klein of Foley, Alabama, Diane (Carl) Mally of Cedar Rapids, and Kathryn Lowe of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth (Pat) Packingham; and her beloved dog, Bandit.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Viola Eickstaedt.
Norine was born July 22, 1926, the daughter of Harold and Gladys (Johnson) Packingham in Cedar Rapids. On October 20, 1946, she married Glen Cecil Baker in Cedar Rapids. He died September 13, 1995. Norine was Past Matron of the Center Point Eastern Star.
