Nickson Philemon, 54, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Monday, October 2, 2023, at his home. Funeral Service: 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Cedar Rapids with visitation to begin one hour prior. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids is assisting the family.
Nickson was born January 10, 1969, in Jacmel, Haiti the son of Williere Philemon and Edith Jean-Louis. He graduated College Dominique Savio and INAGHEI in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. On September 1, 2001, Nickson was united in marriage to Lavila Alcena in Haiti. He was employed as an accountant by CANNEX SA from 1997 – 2022.
Survivors include his wife, Philemon Alcena Lavila; children, Nick-Amaia Philemon and Norah Laevka Philemon; mother, Edith Jean-Louis; and brothers, Eddy, Patrick, Gregory, and Woodley Philemon.
He was preceded in death by his father.
