Nickolas J. "Nick? Reinert, 21, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, October 12, 2006, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, following a courageous battle with cancer. Memorial Services: 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 16, 2006, at Kenwood Park Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids by the Rev. Duane Hicks. A time of gathering will be today (Sunday) from 2 to 6 p.m. at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion.
Nick was born December 22, 1984, in Oelwein, the youngest child of Joel and Janet (Simpson) Reinert. Nick attended school in Manchester and graduated from Oelwein Community High School in 2003. Following graduation Nick moved to Cedar Rapids and enjoyed working at the family business.
Nick enjoyed motocross and motorcycle riding, billiards, music, video games and being with friends.
Survivors include his parents, Joel and Janet Reinert of Manchester; a sister Amy (Heath) Seegers, and their daughters, Lauren and Allison, all of Cedar Rapids; his maternal grandparents, Bill and Marilyn Simpson of Oelwein; his paternal grandmother, L. Jean Reinert of Oelwein.
Nick was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Donald Reinert.
A memorial fund has been established in Nick?s name.
