Nicholas "Nick? L. Mesch, 25, of Manchester died Sunday morning, October 10, 2004 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2004 at the Manchester United Methodist Church with Revs. Roger Henry and Julie May presiding. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary?s Cemetery, Masonville.
Nick was born on April 2, 1979 in Cedar Rapids the son of Darwin & Erin Mesch. He graduated in 1997 from Maquoketa Valley High School in Delhi. Nick did home construction work. On November 15, 2003 Nick was united in marriage to Brandi Rettinger at the Manchester United Methodist Church.
Nick enjoyed playing softball and golf. He belonged to golf and bowling leagues in Manchester. Nick also liked to hunt, fish and drive his Pontiac Trans Am. He enjoyed watching the Miami Dolphins football team.
Nick is survived by his wife, Brandi Mesch of Manchester; his parents, Darwin (Jane) Mesch of Earlville and Erin Mesch (Gary Brown) of Galena, IL; a half-sister, Micaela Mesch of Earlville; mother and father-in-law, Barb & Chuck Rettinger of Masonville; grandparents, Velva & Eldon Wilson of Delhi and Dale & Ruth Gingerich of Carmel, CA; a great-grandmother, Ruth Grimes of Iowa City; and his many other family and friends.
Nick was preceded in death by his grandparents, Loren & Wanda Kehoe; great-grandparents, Nick & Hattie Mesch; and aunt, Jean Kehoe.
