Nicholas Robert Greene, 5 months, of 5010 21st Avenue, died Monday, February 16, 2004, at St. Luke?s Hospital, of SIDS. Services: 10 a.m. Friday, February 20, 2004, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion by Rev. John Gossman. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion where a parish vigil service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his parents, Jeremy and Jodi Greene of Marion; a sister, Meghan at home; paternal grandparents, Robert and Tricia Greene of Marion; maternal grandparents, Michael and Susan Halpin of Marion; three uncles, Nathan Greene of Cedar Rapids, Christopher Greene of Marion and Thomas Greene of Marion; paternal great-grandparents, Robert and Gwen Greene of Marion and Elaine Brown of Farley; maternal great-grandparents, Robert Forney of Boone and Betty Halpin of Boone; and numerous loving family members.
He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandfather, Loras Brown; his maternal great-grandparents, Lucille Forney and Thomas Halpin; and a great uncle, Alan Brown.
Nicholas was born September 15, 2003, the son of Jeremy and Jodi (Halpin) Greene in Cedar Rapids. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion where he was baptized on December 6, 2003.
The family wishes to acknowledge the tender loving care given by Pam, who is a very special friend.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in memory of Nicholas.
