Nellie "Mae" Meader

Nellie "Mae? Meader, 82, of 1557 B Avenue N.E., Cedar Rapids, died Friday, June 23, 2006, in Mercy Medical Center, following a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at Sharon United Methodist Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Gary Dobbins. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, June 26, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
Survivors include two sons, Earl Truair of Cedar Rapids and Myron (Nancy) Meader of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, April Meader of Cedar Rapids and Ida (Gary) Laetare of Cedar Rapids; stepchildren, Virginia Messimoore, Inez Messimoore and Walter "Mikey? Meader, Jr. all of Arizona; and a sister, Eileen Olmstead.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; her parents; a daughter, Cindy Marie Meader; a brother, Wesley Truair; two sisters, Bessie Truair and Pearl Lacinda; and a special friend, Carl Miller.
Nellie was born April 12, 1925, in Manchester, IA, the daughter of Earl and Ida (Hasis) Truair. In 1943 she graduated from Manchester High School. She was united in marriage to Walter Meader in 1951. He died on July 12, 1978. Nellie was retired from Rockwell Collins and G.C. Services. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and IBEW Local 1362. She loved to crochet, enjoyed dancing, current events and loved playing cards.
