Nellie Emma Everett, 94, formerly of Omaha and Marion, Iowa, died Sunday, January 22, 2006, at Northbrook Manor in Cedar Rapids, following a brief illness. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2006, at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Missouri Valley. Friend may call from 7 - 9 p.m. Friday at Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley. Local arrangements are by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion, Iowa.
Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn (Duane) Goers of Marion, Iowa; a granddaughter, Kathleen (Mark) Wilden of Marion; a great-grandson, Matt Wilden of Coralville, Iowa, and Jeff Wilden of Marion; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas; an infant granddaughter; an infant grandson; one brother; and two sisters.
Nellie was born February 27, 1911, in Woodbine, Iowa, a daughter of George and Elizabeth (Hansen) Hatterman. She graduated from Cathedral High School in Omaha, Nebraska. On August 12, 1930, she married Thomas R. Everett in Omaha. He died in 1986. Nellie was a supervisor at Kitty Clover Potato Chip Company in Omaha for 25 years and a steward for the Teamsters Union. She was also a talented seamstress with a loyal clientele. While in Omaha, she was a member of St. Peter?s Catholic Church, their Altar and Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters of America. She was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion.
Nellie loved painting, gardening, sewing and other arts and crafts.
A kind and gentle lady, Nellie will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
