Neal Clynton Brockmeyer, 87, of Delhi, died Friday, November 28, 2014, at Monticello Nursing and Rehab. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion.
Survivors include his children, Glenn (LaNette) Brockmeyer of Woodburn, Oregon, Linda (Phil) Maitland of Keystone, IA, Karla (Dan) Kelley of Monticello, and Paul (Hiroko) Brockmeyer of Altus, OK; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Arlyn Brockmeyer of Manchester.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean Ann (Story) Brockmeyer; brothers, Carrol, Lester, and Bobby Brockmeyer; and sister, Elverna Belamy.
Neal was born October 2, 1927, in Woodcenter, Iowa, the son of Clarence and Loida (Kenoke) Brockmeyer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. Neal was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Lions Club, the World Wide Church of God, and was a volunteer firefighter for 25 years. He enjoyed the Lawrence Welk Show, going for walks, and was an avid reader of the Bible.
