Navadee “Nev” Irene Penn Russell McGraw, 84 of Delaware, IA died at her home, Thursday, January 26, 2012.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 30, 2012 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Delaware by Rev. Donald Krause. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., Sunday, January 29, 2011 at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Manchester and one hour before services at the church on Monday. Burial will be in the Pineview Cemetery, Delaware, IA.
Nev was born May 20, 1927 in Springville, the daughter of Irwin and Bertha (Yeisley) Penn. She graduated from Springville High School in 1946. Nev was united in marriage to Robert H. Russell of Norway, IA on November 22, 1946 at the Little Brown Church. They lived in Washington State for a time before moving back to Delaware County to farm. Nev worked at the Delaware County Memorial Hospital for 22 years. To this union were born four children, Dick, Connie, Charlene and Karen. Robert died in September 1981 after 35 years of marriage. On February 12, 1983, Nev was united in marriage to Raymond T. McGraw at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. They were married for 25 years. Ray died in July 2008.
Nev was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Delaware. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cats, flowers, collecting things, flying and traveling.
Nev is survived by four children, Dick (Bev) Russell of Ephrata, WA, Connie McGraw and special friend, Loren Salow of Delaware, Charlene Weatherwax of Delhi, and Karen (Buzz) McCoy of Crawfordsville, IA. She is also survived by Ray’s eight children, Tom McGraw, Donna (Larry) Williams, Ron (Jerry) McGraw, Jim (Diana) McGraw, Gary (Peggy) McGraw, Diane (Leo) Koch, Dave (Kathy) McGraw and Dan (June) McGraw; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Ray Penn of Marion; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nev was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents; an infant brother, Norman, and a sister, Rowena Humpal.
