Naomi Ruth Clark, 89, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013, with her daughters by her side at Evergreen Estates III in Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2013, at Calvary Baptist Church, Cedar Rapids, conducted by Rev. Jay Jentink. Family will greet friends an hour before services. Visitation: 2-4 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids
The family she leaves behind to miss her terribly is daughter, Cathy Rammelsberg and her daughters, Brooke (Fred) Agan, Kyla (Todd) Sergeant and Josie (Mark) Norton; and great-grandchildren, Jackson and Cooper. Also missing her terribly is daughter Karen (David) Beer and their children, Austin (Sara), Colby, and Courtney.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Russ; and her beloved son-in-law, David Rammelsberg.
Naomi was born August 12, 1923, daughter of Josie and Kern Peal, being their tenth child. She was a lifelong resident of Cedar Rapids, graduating from Roosevelt High School. She worked at Woolworths before and during WWII, learning skills in bookkeeping and accounting. She utilized those skills throughout her lifetime managing the books for the numerous Paramount Pharmacies, retiring from Medical Arts, and then again retiring at the age of 80 from her son-in-law’s auto-collision business. Naomi married Russell Jay Clark on January 10, 1943, at Calvary Baptist Church. They enjoyed 62 wonderful years of marriage together. Naomi enjoyed picnics, fishing, traveling, the Cubs, the Hawkeyes, and being involved with Calvary Baptist Church. Naomi loved helping others, seeing a need and stepping in. She had a love for reading novels and poetry, and inviting friends over for a meal, conversation and laughter. One of her greatest loves was for her grandchildren and her cherished red-headed great-grandchildren.
