Naomi Mae Bolden, 87, of Marion, Iowa, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on December 19, 2012, following a long illness. She was born on February 22, 1925, in Crawford County, Wis., and married Richard J. (RJ) Bolden on October 9, 1946, in La Crosse, Wis.; together they raised five children: Linda (Bill) Kuennen of Cedar Rapids; Jim Bolden of Cedar Rapids; Rhonda (John) Hammes of Fairfield, Iowa; Gary (Cheri) Bolden of Marion; and Shawn Bolden of Cedar Rapids. For more than forty years, Naomi and Richard worked side by side building their business, Marion Brush Mfg. Co., with RJ making brushes and Naomi taking care of the office. In addition to spending time with her family, Naomi loved traveling, camping, snowmobiling, and baking. She was a member of Marion Christian Church.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 66 years, her loving children, 10 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Bessie Orness of Marion, and Sherry Hartelt of Mt. Vernon. Naomi was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 3855 Katz Drive, Marion. The family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
