Nancy Ellen Stewart, 68, of Springville, died Friday, November 28, 2003, in her home following an extended illness. A private family mass and rosary will be held. The family will greet friends from 2 - 8 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2003, at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Springville. Private inurnment: Jordan?s Grove Cemetery, rural Central City, at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion.
Survivors include her husband of forty-eight years, Harold; two sons, Dr. Stephen Stewart and wife Dorothy of Marion and Curtis Stewart of Anamosa; and three grandchildren, Christopher, Nathan and Aaron Stewart.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents.
Nancy Ellen Thompson was born the daughter of Lester and Alice Bailey Thompson on May 21, 1935, in Cedar Rapids. On October 22, 1955, she was united in marriage to Harold Stewart at Jordan?s Grove Baptist Church in rural Central City. Nancy was a graduate of Springville High School and St. Luke?s School of Nursing. Nancy worked as a registered nurse in various doctors' offices for many years. She was a member of St. Ididore Catholic Church and North Star Homemakers.
She was a very caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
