Nancy Joann Shindoll (Timmons)

Nancy JoAnn Shindoll, 71, of 5421 Tarena Ct. SW, died Sunday, September 14, 2008, at her home. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2008, at Ascension Lutheran Church in Marion by Rev. Linda Livingston. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2008, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion.
Survivors include her husband, Arden of Cedar Rapids; her children, David (Lynne) Shindoll of Arlington Heights, Illinois, Stephen Shindoll of Templeton, and Diane (Francisco) Gonzalez of Sarasota, Florida; a brother, Duane (Doreen) Timmons of Palo Cedro, California; and eight grandchildren.
Also surviving is her sister’s husband, Chuck Kolar and their daughter Tanya, both of Corona, California, and many other loving family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Arlene Kolar.
Nancy was born August 26, 1937, the daughter of Horace and Marie (Pagenkopf) Timmons in Dubuque. On November 26, 1959, she married Arden Shindoll in Dubuque. Nancy received her Bachelor of Science from Iowa State University in 1959 and was a lifetime member of the Iowa State Alumni Association. She was a Professor of Chemistry at Mt. Mercy College, retiring in 1988.
A memorial fund has been established in Nancy’s memory.
