Nancy Kay (Baumler) Havel, 56, of 2413 Hoosier Street S.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, June 24, 2007, in Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House, Hiawatha, following a short illness with lung cancer. Services: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at St. Patrick's Church, 510 1st Avenue N.W. Cedar Rapids, Iowa, by Rev. Steven Rosonke. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 520 Wilson Avenue S.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with a vigil service at 5:00 p.m. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial: 3:30 p.m.,Wednesday, at St. Luke's Cemetery, St. Lucas, Iowa, by Rev. Marvin Salz.
Survivors include her mother, Theresa A. Baumler of Fort Atkinson; her daughters, Tracy (Daniel) Klees, Stacy (Kirk) Hauskins and Jenny Havel (Troy Patrick) all of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren, Liberty, Delaney, and Danielle Klees, Caeden and Jillian Hauskins and Jacob, Jaliea and Jackson Havel; sisters, Darlene (Gene) Olberding of Dyersville, Iowa, Irene (Don) Lynch of Burlington, Iowa, Ann (Dean) Schaufenbuel of St. Lucas, Iowa and Terry (Carl) Schmitt of Fort Atkinson, Iowa; brothers, Bill Baumler of Ossian, Iowa, Dale (Mick) Baumler of Anamosa, Iowa, Dennis (Pat) Baumler of St. Lucas, Iowa, Daniel Baumler of St. Lucas, Iowa, Glen Baumler of Fort Atkinson, Iowa, Jay (Reneé) Baumler of Irvine, California, Leon (Gail) Baumler of St. Lucas, Iowa and John (Anjie) Baumler of Buckner, Missouri; and her dog and faithful companion, Scruffy.
She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Baumler; and an infant sister, Theresa Ann Baumler.
Nancy was born February 22, 1951, in New Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Theresa (Franzen) Baumler. She attended St. Luke's Catholic School and graduated from Turkey Valley High School in 1969. She worked for Iowa National, Teleconnect, Feiereisen and most recently provided day care for her grandchildren.
Nancy was a wonderful mother, devoted sister and her grandchildren were her joy and delight. She loved playing cards, scrapbooking, and tending flowers and plants in her garden.
A memorial fund has been established.
