Nancy C. Deason, 83, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, November 1, 2015, at her home. Family will greet friends from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 5, 2015, at Sharon United Methodist Church, Cedar Rapids. Entombment: Linwood Mausoleum, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Regina Jones of Cedar Rapids, Jeri Lynn Racz of Florence, Alabama, Debra (Delbert) Bray, Kristine (James) Howard, Craig (Julie) Deason and Steve Deason, all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; sisters, Jessie Nordquist of Wisconsin, Francis Weller of Minnesota, Gen Stevens and Kristine Stevens both of Cedar Rapids; brothers, LeRoy “Roy” (Donna) Booth of Wisconsin and Raymond Auen of Central City; life-long friends, Barb Magner and Phyllis Stevens; and her dog, Kelli.
She was preceded in death by her parents; seven sisters; five brothers; and granddaughter, Carrie Racz.
Nancy was born on September 20, 1932, in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, daughter of George and Nellie (Auen) Booth. She was raised by John and Christina (Jensen) Auen. She worked for the Cedar Rapids School system for many years and later for Rockwell Collins. On January 3, 1954, she married Robert “Bud” Deason in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, he died in 1971. She was a member of the Sharon United Methodist Church, Cedar Rapids. Nancy enjoyed playing bingo. She loved to crochet and make quilts.
