Naeoma G. Walton, 89, of Center Point, died Wednesday, October 23, 2002, in her daughter?s home, following a brief illness. Services: 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2002, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, by Rev. John Caughron. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, October 27, 2002, at the funeral home. Burial: Center Point Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Veleta Benesh of Center Point, five grandchildren, Virgil and Marilyn Benesh of Mankato, Minnesota, Kim and Jeni Benesh of Alexandria, Virginia, Chad and Cheryl Benesh of Rancho Palos Verde, California, Frosty and Ron TeKippe of Stuart, Iowa, and Shari and Steve Bowers of Waterloo, Iowa; 15 great-grandchildren, Jeff, Andrea, and Jordan Benesh, Brianna, Sean, Kenna and Emily Benesh, Sarah and Andrew Benesh, Aly and Alexandria TeKippe, and Ryan, Elizabeth, Shawn and Spencer Bowers; three brothers, Andy Andrews of Troy Mills, John Andrews of Anaheim, California, and Harry Andrews of Cedar Rapids; and a sister, Zella Shedeck of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arlie; two brothers, Harley and Alvin Andrews; a sister, Leora Bateman; and a son-in-law, Richard Benesh.
Naeoma was born March 11, 1913, the daughter of William and May (Pugh) Andrews, in Walker, Iowa. A graduate of Troy Mills High School, she was united in marriage to Arlie W. Walton in Walker, Iowa, on November 16, 1934. Naeoma and her husband farmed near Center Point until his death, July 20, 1971. After moving to town, she was the piemaker at the 150 Gulf Restaurant in Center Point and worked at Benions Nursing Home. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Naeoma.
