Myrtle D. Keenan, 91, of 5327 Kacena Avenue, Marion, Iowa, died Saturday, March 26, 2011, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, Iowa. Services: 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 520 Wilson Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Roger Reid and Rev. Al Brydon. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, March 28, 2011, at the funeral home. Burial: 2 p.m., Tuesday at Violet Hill Cemetery, Perry, Iowa.
Survivors include children, Peggy Henderson, of Marion and Douglas (Linda) Keenan of Western, Iowa; seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and her twin brother, Mac Ritter of Apple Valley, California.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; parents; daughter, Marilyn Kolek; and twelve sisters and brothers.
Born May 15, 1919, in Scranton, Iowa, Myrtle was the daughter of Henry and Mary Jane (Bartley) Ritter. In 1940, she was united in marriage to Richard Keenan in Kahoka, Missouri. He died March 17, 1961.
Myrtle was a member of the First Christian Church. She loved and lived for her family.
