Myron A. Wilcox, 84, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 – 7 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2021, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021, at the funeral home. Entombment: Linwood Cemetery Mausoleum, Cedar Rapids. A reception will immediately follow entombment at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood.
Myron was born October 29, 1936, in Mitchell, South Dakota, the son of Arthur and Bessie (Matheny) Wilcox. On September 12, 1955, he was united in marriage to Audrey Fowler. Myron was a union painter for Local 477. He was a hard worker that loved to do landscaping and maintenance for the family properties. Above all, he enjoyed the time spent with his children and grandchildren; especially when they got a chance to go fishing.
Survivors include his children, Mark (Bonnie) Wilcox, Myron “Marty” (Linda) Wilcox II, and Angie Wilcox, all of Cedar Rapids; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Myron was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Wilcox; son, Michael Wilcox; parents, Arthur and Bessie Wilcox; and brother, Alvin Wilcox.
