Myron William Fagle, 90, of Marion, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Willow Gardens Care Center, Marion. Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2012, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by Pastor Jen Filter. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Myron is survived by his wife of 70 years, Vivian; daughter, Shirley (Howard) Nelson of Walker; son, Dennis (Christy) Fagle of Marion; grandchildren, Dawn (David) Schott of Coggon, Stacey Miller (Jeremiah Pillard) of Walker, Jennifer (Bill) Grindle of Cedar Rapids, Jason (Megan) Fagle of Toddville, and Jessica Fagle of Marion; 11 great-grandchildren, Jordan, Brendan and Kyler Schott, Harley and Samantha Miller, Cooper and Nash Pillard, Greyson and Giana Grindle, and Mitchell and McKinze Fagle; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Thelma Wilkinson, Margaret Hallet, and Doris Nielson; and six brothers, Loring, Davillo, Rex, Clint, John, and Wesley Fagle.

Myron was born the tenth child of William Perry and Sara Jenny (Brown Faulkner) Fagle on June 29, 1922, in rural Linn County, near Whittier. He graduated from high school at Rowley. On September 19, 1942, he married Vivian Lucille Goldsworthy in Independence. Myron had been employed by Quaker Oats, Ed Siders Construction, and retired in 1984, from the Cedar Rapids Grain Inspection Service as a federally licensed inspector. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and was a member of Marion American Legion Post #298.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Willow Gardens Care Center and Hospice Compassus for their care during Myron’s stay at the care center.

A memorial fund has been established in Myron’s name.
