Myron William “Bill” Weber, Jr., 73, of 5900 Ely Road S.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, March 30, 2008, in his home following a short illness. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 4, 2008, at First Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Tom Pietz. Burial: 2:30 p.m., Friday, at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Military honors by: American Legion Hanford Post #5.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy; children, David and fiancé Brenda, Sandra (David) Ross and Heidi (Michael) Trotter all of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Joshua Weber, Austin Trotter and Andie Trotter; brother, Dennis Weber of Mason City; and sisters, Sue Asleson of Centennial, Colorado and Julie Thomas of Littleton, Colorado.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Sally Pick.
Bill was born March 13, 1935, in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Myron and Vivian (Cox) Weber, Sr. On November 27, 1959, he was united in marriage to Nancy Lien. Bill graduated from Mason City High School in 1953 and attended Wartburg College for one year. From 1955-1958 he served in the U.S. Army. He then attended Mason City Junior College and the University of Iowa. Bill owned Mr. Bill’s Pizza in Marion, was owner and manager of the Indian Creeke Supper Club for 3 years and general manager of Hawkeye Downs for 9 years. He was co-owner of Inserts Limited for 2 years. Bill currently owned Contract Management Services.
Bill was a member of First Lutheran Church and his joys were hunting, fishing, flying and amateur photography.
