Myra Caroline Dochterman, age 90, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, died Saturday, October 2, 2010, at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas. Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 16, 2010, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Myra is survived by her husband, William Paul Dochterman; two sons, William Bruce Dochterman and wife Joanne of Swisher, Iowa, and Larry August Dochterman and wife Barbara of Marengo, Illinois; three daughters, Rose Ann Rich of Anamosa, Iowa, Bernieta May Wells and husband Luke of Anamosa, Iowa, and Evelyn Juil Semerad and husband Dennis of Quincy, Illinois; and a brother, Lester Malottki and wife Diane of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. Myra is also survived by 14 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, a sister, Myrta McComb; 3 infant brothers; and a daughter-in-law, Judy Dochterman.
She was born on December 31, 1919 in Lowden, Iowa, to August Malottki and Freida Mensing Malottki. Myra was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Horseshoe Bend. She had served as President of Christian Women, President and Secretary of the Shepherd’s Guild and was a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.
