Monte J. Ryan, 38, of 1112 10th Street N.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, April 2, 2008, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Memorial Service: 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Steven Rosenke. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time at the church on Tuesday. Burial: Shiloh Cemetery, Hiawatha, at a later date.
Survivors include his parents; grandmother, Mickey Lockhart of Cedar Rapids; sister, Shaunette Ryan of Cedar Rapids; half sister, Maria (Clark) Milner of Colorado Springs, Colorado; half brother, Tom (Lorraine) Lockhart, Jr., of Adel; and step-brothers, Kevin Stover of Traer and Craig Stover of Atlanta, Georgia.
Also surviving are Richard and Theresa Beall, Bill and Sue Lockhart and Bob, Suzy, Scuzzie and Blue Lockhart, Mickey Lockhart; and special friends, Ron, Diana, Matt and Christina Stigall, Roberta Sable, Chris Duchene, Emmett Bashear, Rus and Linda Lowe, Tina Kaplan, Johnny Regan, John O’Connor, Leo and Susie Johnson, Brian Gall, Geno Doss, Darla Arbuckle and Shane, Calvin Price, Kim Kramer and Henry Schelb.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Tom Lockhart; grandparents, Joseph and Loretta Ryan;e Jim Irey; and Cinnamon.
Monte was born December 15, 1969, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of James Ryan and Linda Lockhart. He was a welder for J.E. Adams for the past year.
Monte enjoyed his Harley Davidson motorcycle, fishing and children.
He will always be remembered for his sense of humor.
A memorial fund has been established in Monte’s memory.
