Our much-loved mom, Mona L. Salow, 83, of Earlville, Iowa, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving family. Visitation for Mona will be held Tuesday, October 26, 2021, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home, Manchester. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, October 27, 2021, 10:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, Manchester with Reverend Tony D. Ede officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Earlville. Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester is assisting the family.

Mona was born May 28, 1938, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of J. Curtis and Maude (Vesey) Grigg. She attended school in Buck Creek, Iowa. Mona met Harry in Hopkinton, Iowa and their first date was seeing a show together. They married February 19, 1955. Mona worked at Wendy Pines Supper Club, Good Neighbor Home, Oakcrest and Walmart.

Mona was a born nurturer, caring for people was her passion, to many she was known as Gramma Mona. In earlier years you could find her with family and friends gathered on the front porch spending time together and sharing stories. She was always known to be creating crafts with her grandchildren and crocheting. Her eyes would light up at the very mention of ice cream or York Peppermint Patties. She loved all animals especially her teacup poodle Nonnie. She was fiercely loyal and had a spit fire personality. Mona and Harry loved Old Country Music.

Mona is survived by her children, Barbara Cree of Manchester, Dawn (Wege) Lewin of Earlville, Robert (Susie) Salow of Earlville, Vicki (Rick) Althoff of Strawberry Point, Mary (Dave) Pasker of Earlville, Curt (Kym) Salow of Independence, Ann (Fred) Davis of Earlville, Tim (Becky Clemen) Salow of Manchester and Becky Salow of Manchester; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Betty Salow of Manchester and Katie Grigg of Monticello, three brothers-in-law, Hap (Phyllis) Salow of Earlville, Dave Salow of Manchester and Richard (Pat) Salow of Manchester; one sister-in-law, Irene Salow of Manchester; and her pet, Nonnie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; one son-in-law, Fred Cree; two great-grandchildren; parents, James and Maude Grigg; six sisters, Cornelia Grigg, Anne Rose, Ethel Talmage, Millie Maxwell, Iris McElmeel and Nettie Frederickson; one brother, Jim Grigg; her in-laws, Ray Sr. and Nellie Salow; 13 brothers-in-law; and six sisters-in-law.
