Molly Ster

Molly Ster, 86, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017, at her home. Service: 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 19, 2017, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Molly was born on December 3, 1930 in Emmetsburg, Iowa, daughter of Herbert and Mary (Brereton) Baker. She was married to Mike Ster in November 2006. They had a wonderful time traveling, spending time with family and friends and going to Starbucks! They were devoted to each other. Molly enjoyed bridge, knitting, flowers and birds. She was a member of PEO for 60 years, and a lifelong member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband Mike Ster of Marion; daughter, Catherine (Lee) Webb of Des Moines, Iowa; son, David (Nancy) of Sonoma, California; daughter-in-law, Annie Simpson of Brayton, Iowa; two grandsons, Jason (Lisa) Webb of San Rafael, California, and Adam (Suzie) Webb of Sioux City, Iowa; three precious great-granddaughters all whom she dearly loved; step-children, David (Elizabeth) Ster of Center Point, Iowa, Cheri (Alan) Boots of Miami, Florida, Barb Amari of Streamwood, Illinois, Paul (Janelle) Ster of Robins, Iowa, Shawn Ster of Marion, Iowa; eleven step-grandchildren; and ten step-great-grandchildren.
Molly was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Charles “Charlie” Simpson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Congregational UCC choir.
