Milford J. “Muff” Comley, 73, of Ryan, formerly of Marion, died Monday, July 30, 2007, at Manchester Regional Medical Center, after a long battle with emphysema. The family will greet friends from 4 ?" 7 p.m. on Friday, August 3, 2007, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. Private family inunment will take place at a later date.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; three children, Susan (Gary) Holst of Coggon, Michael Comley, and Jennifer Watson, both of Ryan; three grandchildren, Jason Greene of Marion, Erin (Kene) Shoop of Walker, and Sydney Watson of Ryan; and four great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Alyssa, and Allen Novak, and Kylee Jo Shoop.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Milford was born March 18, 1934, the son of Wilfred and Fern (Ledvina) Comley. He graduated from Marion High School in 1952. He married Marilyn Munier on March 14, 1954 in Kahoka, Missouri. After high school, he went to work at Collins Radio. Then, in 1957, he went to work as a carpenter. In 1984, he and his son, Michael, went into the construction business together, and worked until his health kept him home.
Milford enjoyed fishing, playing cards and bowling. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
