Mildred A. Stastny

Mildred A. Stastny, 86, of 2112 Lauren Drive S.W., Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, February 7, 2004, in her home, following a short illness. Services: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. David Young. Burial: Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from noon until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Michael Stastny of Nashua, Starla Griffith of Kihei, Hawaii, and Tamara Stastny of Cedar Rapids; three great-grandchildren, Jamie and Jessica Stastny and Kiana Griffith; and a great-great-grandchild, Regean Tobin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas; a son, Robert; a brother, Mervin Lucas; and a sister, Betty Curran.
Born July 10, 1917, in Estherville, Iowa, to Enis and Vernita Lucas, she married Thomas Stastny in Davenport, Iowa. He died February 14, 1983. She worked for Rockwell Collins and was also a seamstress for many years.
Instead of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Mercy or the American Cancer Society.
