Mildred “Millie” Foxen, 92, of Earlville, most recently at the Dubuque Retirement Center, died September 19, 2013 at Finley Hospital in Dubuque, IA.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Monday, September 23, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earlville by Father Noah Diehm. Visitation will be 2:00 – 6:00 pm Sunday, September 22, 2013, where there will be a 5:30 pm Vigil Service at the Clifton Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Earlville. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Earlville.
Millie was born January 1, 1921 in Worthington, IA, the daughter of Peter and Elizabeth (Heims) Kelchen. On November 20, 1945, she was united in marriage to Al Foxen in Worthington.
Millie was a member for over 60 years at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earlville. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking, quilting, playing bingo and cards.
Millie is survived by four children, Bonnie (Louie) Dowell of Mission, TX, Steve (Beth) Foxen and Mary Beth (Chris) Smith both of Dubuque, and Jeff (Sarah) Foxen of West Des Moines; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Millie was preceded in death by her husband, Al, in August 1991, a son, Fred Foxen, and eight siblings.
