Mildred Elizabeth Jordan
August 22, 1924 — July 15, 2017
Mildred “Mid” Elizabeth Jordan, 92, passed away Satuday, July 15, 2017. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. followed by a 12:00 p.m. Funeral Service on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. Burial: Dunkard Cemetery, Midway, Iowa.
Mid was born to John and Elsie (McMahon) Hoover on August 22, 1924, in rural Linn County. She graduated from Toddville High School in 1942. She married James D. Jordan on January 1, 1948.
Mid was proud of getting her AA degree from Kirkwood Community College in her 50’s. She worked for Abbe Center, in rural Linn County, for over 30 years. Mid lived on the family farm for over 80 years.
Survivors are her children, Tom (Deanna) of Ames, Keith (Dee) of Wyoming, Iowa, and Betty of Onslow; three sisters-in-law, Ruth Hoover, Rosita Jordan and Dorothy (Pat) McNiel; four grandchildren, Andy (Lisa), Amy (Ryan) Berry, Shaina (Brian) VanBeek, Cort (Bethany); seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Proceeding her in death are her parents; husband; siblings, Clyde, Mary, Herb and Warren; and great-granddaughter, Savannah.
She will be missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
