Mildred L. “Millie” (Cole) Henderson, 72, of Marion, passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, December 8, 2011. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2011, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Marion. Graveside Services: 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2011 (just prior to service) at Hopkinton Cemetery. Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday December 13, 2011, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Marion.
Mildred is survived by her son, Rod Henderson; daughter, Tina Henderson; granddaughter, Kristina (Paul) Johnson; and great-grandson, Adam Johnson. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Noe; brother, James Daniel Cole; brother-in-law, Lyle Ehlts; and her two dogs, Maddy and Rocky.
She was preceded in death be her husband; parents; two children, Lonnie and Karen; and sister, Carol.
Mildred was born September 8, 1939, in Hopkinton, to Joseph and Margaret (Arenson) Cole. She was married to Edward L. “Ed” Henderson on September 14, 1957 in Marion. Ed passed away September 7, 2008. Mildred worked at Crestview Acres Nursing Home in Marion as a Nurses Aid for 35 years. She enjoyed all animals, camping, sewing, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Mildred’s memory.
