Mildred J. Daugherty, 85, of 1127 Ingleside Dr SW, died Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at St. Luke?s Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. Services: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2003, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Herbert Isenberg. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2003, at the funeral home. Graveside committal: 2:30 p.m., Saturday at Floris Cemetery, Floris, Iowa.
Survivors include her sons, LaVerne (Karon), Jerry (Donelle) and Donald of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, Tony (Roxanne) Daugherty, Kris (Curt) Wheeler, Scott (Angie) Daugherty, Jeff Daugherty and fiancée Peggy, Steve (Amy) Daugherty, Brad (Jean) Daugherty and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lindell; her parents; three brothers, Ralph, Glenn and Varold; and two sisters, Hazel Rogers and Mary Swanson.
Mildred was born March 18, 1918, the daughter of Andrew J. and Lulu May (Easton) Goodwin. On June 6, 1935, she was united in marriage to Lindell L. Daugherty in Davis County. She worked at Quaker Oats for 26 years.
