Mikel “Hoss” Kent, 60, of Alburnett, died Monday, February 28, 2011, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Services: 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 4, 2011, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 3 – 7 p.m., Thursday, March 3, 2011, at the funeral home. Burial: Troy Mills Cemetery, Troy Mills, Iowa.
He is survived by his loving wife, Connie; many family members, friends, and his dog, Harley.
Mike was born December 2, 1950, the son of Melvin Kent and Bueta Bentley, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Mike was currently employed by Morris, Inc. He loved to sing and fish; Ford trucks; he loved anything to do in the outdoors, especially “cuttin’ wood;” and Mike loved helping family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Mike’s memory.
