Michelle Lynn Cole “Shelly”, 44, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died after a sudden illness Sunday, October 12, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, conducted by Pastor John Caughron.
Survivors include her husband, John Young of Cedar Rapids; mother, Bonnie “Scottie” Poskevich of Sioux City; and grandmother, Marydonna Collins of Mapleton, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her father, Douglas Cole; special step-father, Ron Poskevich; grandfather, Ralph Collins; and uncle, Michael P. Collins.
Michelle was born on October 10, 1970, in Sioux City, Iowa, daughter of Douglas and Bonnie Cole. She graduated from North High School in Sioux City, then Kirkwood Community College and received her BA from Mt. Mercy. Shelly worked for Hy-Vee for 20 years. She was an avid reader and loved dogs. Shelly enjoyed being outdoors and camping.
