Micheal Etzel

Micheal Etzel, 52, of Alburnett, Iowa, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2019, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. Family will greet friends from 10 – 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion, Iowa. A Funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home officiated by Jody Skogen. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Lafayette Cemetery, rural Alburnett, Iowa.
Micheal was born May 2, 1967, in Iowa City, the son of Dennis and Edna (Buck) Etzel. He graduated from Alburnett High School and went on to work as a truck driver. Micheal was a referee for basketball, an EMT, and served on the Linn County Fair Board. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Micheal is survived and lovingly remembered by his three children, Matt Etzel, Tayler Etzel, and Dean Etzel; mother, Edna Etzel; sister, Kim (AJ) Lewis; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial fund has been established in Micheal’s memory for the family to help cover funeral expenses.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Etzel; and his grandparents.
