Michael Dean Wiley, 53, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, March 21, 2009, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Iowa City. Memorial Service: 6:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2009, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, with military honors. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service on Wednesday.
Survivors include his children, Michael J.D. of Cedar Rapids, Garnet (Tim) Cook of Oklahoma and Angela Stookey of Cedar Rapids; his mother, Theresa Wiley of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Zakari, Trent, Isabell and Jennifer; his siblings, David (Rhonda) Wiley of Marion, Kathleen (Robert) Ketelsen of Martelle, Patrick Wiley of Marion and Diane (Joseph) Jakoubek of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald.
Michael was born August 24, 1955, the son of Donald and Theresa (Kuriger) Wiley, in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He served his country with the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Michael was a welder, truck mechanic and most recently a truck driver for Priority Express. He was loved and will be missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
