Michael R. Shellmire, 49, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Services: 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Iasha Shellmire of Cedar Rapids; father, Tierney Shellmire of Louisiana; mother, Laura Faulkner of St. Louis; grandchildren, Aaliyah and Treyvon; sister, Ella Shellmire of Illinois; and mother-in-law, Dora Wise of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are many other loving family members.
Born October 16, 1964, in Los Angeles, California, Michael was the son of Tierney Shellmire and Laura (Hopson) Faulkner. On February 8, 1988, he was united in marriage to Gloria Wise in St. Paul, Minnesota.
A memorial fund has been established in Michael’s memory.
