Michael was born August 30, 1951 in Cedar Rapids, IA to Cleo Meier and Andrew Robinson, both deceased. Michael married Jeannine Fritz on April 3, 1971. He is survived by Jeannine and his five children - daughters; Sinnath Niam (Adam Ram) Chan of Des Moines, IA, Bree (Isaiah) Robinson of Cedar Rapids, IA and Brittney Robinson (Andy Garberson) of Iowa City, IA and sons; Ty and Troy Robinson of Cedar Rapids, IA. Also surviving Michael are three grandchildren, who he was very proud of - Veasna Lee and Davie Lyn Chan and Traejan Mychal Robinson; a very special mother-in-law Joyce Fritz of Cedar Rapids, IA (who was like a second mother to him, who he loved dearly, and helped with his care giving), two special nieces, who were like daughters to him - Jeannine Fritz of Mt. Vernon, IA and Jennifer Tamayo of Cedar Rapids, IA. Michael had so many wonderful family members, friends, and members of his Christian family at Bethany Lutheran Church - too many to name, but he remembered every one of them and they all had a special place in his heart.

Michael was a long-time resident of Cedar Rapids, IA. He was employed as a Sales Representative at Mid-Iowa Tools. He was involved in the community through Big Brothers and Big Sisters. He was also involved in foster care and adoption programs. He was active in his church and loved to play softball in the church league. In 2004, he received a "Father of the Year? award from the University of Iowa, sponsored by Omircon Delta Kappa.

Family and friends will remember Michael for his smile, his sense of humor, and his willingness to help others. He bestowed upon all his great courage, his endearing faith, and positive attitude. Michael will be missed dearly by those who loved him.
