Michael Hagarty Lehman, 13, of 7412 Hampshire Drive NE, Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, February 25, 2003, in St. Luke?s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services: 11 a.m. Friday, February 28, 2003, at St. Mark?s Lutheran Church on C Ave. NE Extension, by the Rev. Perry Fruhling. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, from 3 - 8 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 27) and from 10 -11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Survivors include his parents, Bob and Sheila, a sister, Jessica Lehman and a brother, Aaron Lehman, all of Cedar Rapids; maternal grandparents, Pat and Marge Hagarty of Jesup; and paternal grandfather, Ray Lehman of Cedar Rapids.
Also surviving are his aunts and uncles, Kathy Osborn (Jerrold) of Montezuma, Donna Lash of Egg Harbor, Wisconsin, Ray Hagarty (Arline) of Jesup, Tim Hagarty (Sheri) of Colfax, Veronica Mangrich (Lee) of Newton, Dennis Hargarty of Phoenix, Arizona, Greg Hagarty (Diana) of Shueyville, Kevin Hagarty (Kris) of Jesup, Maureen Drexler (Rod) of Shueyville, Marcia Bedard (Tony) and Steve Hagarty (Diane), all of Cedar Rapids, Brian Hagarty (Shelly) of Forest City and Michelle Noonan (Bill) of Cedar Rapids; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Betty Lehman; an uncle, Terry Hagarty; and five cousins.
Michael was born April 2, 1989, the son of Robert and Sheila (Hagarty) Lehman in Dubuque, Iowa. He was a member of St. Mark?s Lutheran Church, where he was very active in the youth group, confirmation small group and confirmation band. Michael was a member of Hawkeye Council Boy Scout Troop 560, where he was working toward his Eagle Scout. Michael was attending eighth grade at Linn-Mar Middle School, where he was active in the drama department, choir and S.O.D.A.
A memorial fund has been established in Michael's memory.
