Michael J. Kriz, 65, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 2, 2021, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. on Friday May 7, 2021, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. A funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. All guests are respectfully requested to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Michael was born on December 14, 1955, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Phyllis (Taschner) and Lumir Kriz, Jr. He worked for Wilson Meat Packing. Michael also worked at Waconia Sorghum as a maintenance worker. He enjoyed playing guitar, listening to music, and expanding his CD collection.
Survivors include his brother, James Kriz; and sister and caregiver, Lynnae Kriz.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
