Michael James Christensen
August 31, 1952 — April 21, 2024
Michael James Christensen, 71, of Brooklyn, Iowa, formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024, at his home. A visitation will be held from 10 – 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 29, 2024, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Michael was born August 31, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, the son of James and Betty (Deal) Christensen. He dedicated his life to education and retired as a professor of computer science from Blackhawk Community College. Michael enjoyed cooking, video games, learning Spanish, and spending time in nature, especially bird watching. He was a tremendous father, brother, and friend. He will be missed very much.
Michael is survived by his son, Thomas Christensen and brothers, Scott, Mitch, and Jamie.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
