Michael Edward Adamek, 53, of 2924 Woodland Dr. SW, Cedar Rapids, died Friday, October 14, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a sudden illness. Memorial Service: 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2005, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Inurnment: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, John and Patricia Adamek of Cedar Rapids; a stepbrother, Daniel Mears of Kansas City, Missouri; niece, Selina Brown; nephew, Todd Bailey; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mae; and his sister, Charlotte Bailey.
Michael was born October 21, 1951, the son of John and Mae (Davis) Adamek, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He served with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Michael worked in the construction business.
