Merwyn D. Hepker, 67, of Center Point, died Thursday, May 8, 2003, in his home, following a short illness. Services: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2003, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, by Rev. John Caughron. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2003, at the funeral home. Burial: Troy Mills Cemetery, Troy Mills.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene; his children, Darla Arbuckle, Myran "Mike? Hepker, both of Cedar Rapids, and Myland Hepker of Urbana; five grandchildren, Coti Moss, Michael Hepker, Jaclyn Hepker, Ashley Hepker and Garrett Hepker; a nephew, Mark (Dawn) Hepker of Center Point; and two great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Verl and Marshall.
Merwyn was born April 20, 1936, the son of Chester and Ruth (Staton) Hepker, in rural Linn County, Iowa. On May 10, 1956, he was united in marriage to Darlene Rick in Urbana, Iowa. A longtime resident of Center Point, Merwyn was a retired farmer and mechanic. He found great joy and love spending time with his family and friends. Merwyn was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Merwyn.
