Merle L. "Rusty" Peters

Merle L. "Rusty? Peters, 74, of Marion, formerly of Springfield, Illinois, died Tuesday, October 31, 2006, at Village Ridge in Marion, from complications of diabetes. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 3, 2006, at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends one hour prior to mass at the church on Friday. Private family committal will be at Linwood Cemetery Mausoleum in Cedar Rapids. Arrangements with Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include a daughter, Lynn Peters of Marion, a son, David Peters of Richardson, Texas; two sisters, Phyllis Peters Look of Royal Oak, Michigan and Joyce Peters of Hudson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rusty was born the son of Fred and Regina Seery Peters on July 22, 1932, at New Hampton. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Rusty was an area manger for Getty Oil for many years, which was later known as Texaco.
Survivors include a daughter, Lynn Peters of Marion, a son, David Peters of Richardson, Texas; two sisters, Phyllis Peters Look of Royal Oak, Michigan and Joyce Peters of Hudson.
