Meldon Len Wertz, 52, of 1201 15th Street SE, Cedar Rapids, died Monday, November 20, 2006, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a lengthy illness. Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his son, Jayme Wertz, Cedar Rapids; his father; his mother; two brothers; and two sisters.
Also surviving are four grandchildren.
Meldon was born June 12, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. For 25 years, he worked as an operator for the City of Cedar Rapids Parks Department. Meldon was a big NASCAR and Dallas Cowboys fan.
