Melba Allbones (Lindell)

Melba Allbones, of Center Point, died Sunday, March 2, 2008, in Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center, Cedar Rapids, following a lingering illness. There will be no services. Burial: Center Point Cemetery, at a later date. Arrangements with Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; her children, Frank (Kathy) Allbones of Cedar Rapids, Ed (Sonja) Allbones, Marie Allbones, both of Shellsburg and Larry (Tracy) Allbones of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Becky Hippert, Shannon Moore, Frank Allbones, III, Austin and Jamie; six great-grandchildren, Jordan, Molly, Leah, Melody, Jordan and Ryan; a sister, Ellen Orman of St. Louis, Missoui; and a brother, Jim (Jerry) Lindell of Kansas City, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Floyd; and two brothers, Al and Bob Lindell.
Melba was born the daughter of Fred and Susan (Lies) Lindell, in St. Louis, Missouri. She was married to Richard Allbones for 56 years. A homemaker, Melba was a foster parent to many children in the area. She loved being outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and horseback riding.
