Megan Bye, 40, of 113 Meadowlark Lane N.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Friday, January 27, 2012, at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, following a three year fight with cancer. Services: 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2012, at River of Life Ministries, Cedar Rapids, by Tim Ferry and Pastor Brian Fink. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Kyle; father, Roger (Pamela) Wolfert of Onalaska, Wisconsin; mother, Kathleen Wolfert of Rochester, Minnesota; children, Zach, Alex and Jordan Bye; brothers, Alex (Jenna) Wolfert of Coralville and Eric (Liz) Ipsen of West Salem, Wisconsin; sister, Christy (Todd) Polczynski of Waukeshau, Wisconsin; and her grandfather, August (Betty) Wolfert of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Also surviving are her father and mother-in-law, Garry and Sonia Bye of Cedar Rapids; brothers-in-law, Kerry Bye and Kevin Bye both of Cedar Rapids; nieces and nephews, Chloe and Jack Ipsen, Sonya and Lucas Polcynski and Michelle Bye; numerous other relatives and friends; and her dogs Duke, Chauncey and Olive.
Megan was preceded in death by her stepmother, Catherine Wolfert.
Born September 15, 1971, in Winona, Minnesota, Megan was the daughter of Roger and Kathleen (Lynch) Wolfert. For over 20 years she was married to Kyle Bye. Megan was a successful business woman and received many honors in her field as a finance broker.
Megan was a member of River of Life Ministries and a devoted wife, wonderful mother and beautiful daughter who enjoyed helping others. She took in stray animals and kids in need. Her joys were sewing, cooking, tennis, golf, ski boating, boating, gardening and traveling to the ocean.
Megan will be sadly missed.
A memorial fund has been established in Megan’s memory.
