Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Buck was born on May 8, 1921, to Orva and Mary (Ruka) Kint, in Troy Mills, Iowa. He grew up and lived in Cedar Rapids, graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1939. He married Gladys “Hap” Yenter on June 15, 1944. For 36 years, Buck worked for Henderson Manufacturing in Cedar Rapids and Manchester, first as a salesman and then as a Purchasing Agent. He retired in 1986.
After moving his family to Manchester, Buck became an usher at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and paired well with Milt Bohnenkamp in those duties. He also joined the Manchester Country Club and served as President and as a member of the board. During his time with Lions Club, he was adept, first as Tail Twister, and then serving as President.

One of his proudest events as a young man was attending the very first American Legion Iowa Boys State for Citizenship and Democracy. Imagine how proud he was when his son, Joe, also went to Boys State and were pictured together in the Manchester Press.
Buck and Hap spent wonderful times traveling in the states where it was warm, and loved to visit friends and relatives.

“In the end, it is not the years in the life, but the life in the years.” Quote from Abe Lincoln.
Buck is survived by his wife; two children, Joseph (Polly Taylor) Kint and Katherine (Kenneth) Backes; three grandsons, B.J., Chris, and Tim; three great-granddaughters, Ellie, Libbie, and Estella; and a sister, Natalie Kroupa.
